A FOUR-PIECE PERSIAN SILVER CONDIMENT SET, LATE 19TH – EARLY 20TH CENTURY
A four-piece silver condiment set consisting of two lidded casters and two open salt cellars. Each vessel features a bulbous body decorated in high-relief repoussé with genre scenes in the Dutch Teniers style, depicting figures in a village setting engaged in dancing and drinking. Each piece is raised on three spherical ball feet and features a vacant shield-shaped cartouche to the front. The casters have domed lids with intricate pierced scrolling decoration and ball finials.
