It is constructed from camelid fibre on a cotton warp using a tapestry weave technique. The iconography features a repeating vertical arrangement of three stylised birds rendered in profile with hooked beaks and geometric stepped details on the bodies and tails. Each figure is enclosed within an ovoid roundel bordered by a series of small ochre-coloured discs, a motif known as a pearl border. Smaller horizontal panels containing cruciform or stepped motifs are positioned between the primary roundels. The natural dye palette comprises deep madder red, ochre, and dark brown or black.
