Lot 304: A RHINOCEROS HORN WALKING STICK, 19TH CENTURY

A 19th-century walking stick constructed from rhinoceros horn. The stick features a handle fashioned as a naturalistic polished knob, displaying characteristic knot details and dark spots. The rhinoceros horn shaft is finished with a distinctive two-tone effect, presenting a light natural colour at the top that transitions into a dark ebonised finish towards the base. The piece is mounted with two white metal collars; one is positioned immediately below the handle and a second band is located further down the shaft.
