A Persian signet ring featuring a wide, tapering silver band and a circular inset face. The parcel-gilt face is engraved with the Shir-o-Khorshid (Lion and Sun) emblem, depicting a lion passant holding a curved sword in its raised forepaw against a background of a rising sun with radiating lines. Below the emblem are four lines of interlocking calligraphic script. Characters including Meem, Za, He, and Re forming the word مظهر are visible in the centre, and the word على (Ain, Lam, Ye) is positioned to the right. The shoulders are decorated with two applied parcel-gilt openwork plaques in an arabesque design.
