Lot 246: A RARE TURKISH OTTOMAN STEEL DERVISH SUFIS MACE/SPIKE WITH BRASS INLAY AND TURQUOISE, 19TH CENTURY

The piece is constructed with a long, slender steel shaft of square section that tapers towards the terminal. It features a spherical head decorated with brass-inlaid foliate and floral scrollwork arranged in circular and wavy patterns. The head is further embellished with small steel studs and inset turquoise cabochons. A short steel chain is attached to the base of the head, terminating in a single turquoise bead.
