Buyer's Premium:

A pair of 19th-century Qajar moulded ceramic tiles, each set in a dark-stained wooden frame. The tiles are decorated in underglaze polychrome with a palette of cobalt blue, white, turquoise, and manganese brown. The first tile depicts a travel scene with two veiled figures riding a horse, led by a pedestrian attendant and followed by another figure, set against a background with a tree and a scale-patterned hillside. The second tile illustrates a hunting scene featuring a mounted rider pursuing two gazelles with a hound, while a figure watches from behind a hill. Both tiles are topped with a decorative border of birds flanking a central flower. The reverse shows wooden backboards secured with screws and heavy jute hanging cords attached to eyelets.
