Lot 325: A CHINESE PALE CELADON JADE DRAGON GARMENT HOOK DAIGOU

A Chinese jade garment hook, daigou, carved from a stone of pale celadon tone. The hook is of traditional arched form, terminating in a dragon head with a blunt snout and incised eyes. The neck is detailed with three raised horizontal bands. The slender, curved body remains undecorated and tapers towards the end. A circular, flat-topped stud is situated on the underside for attachment. The translucent stone exhibits natural dark russet-brown inclusions and internal veining, concentrated around the carved head and the reverse stud.
