A Chinese carved nephrite jade pendant of pale greenish-white tone, dating to the late Qing Dynasty. The piece is fashioned in the form of a cylindrical pouch or section of bamboo. Both the upper and lower rims are embellished with a row of raised circular bosses. The obverse side is decorated with a lingzhi fungus spray carved in high relief, featuring scrolled motifs and incised radiating lines. The reverse depicts an overlapping leaf in low relief. The sides are finished with pierced openwork, suggesting bamboo stalks or stylised handles. The top of the pendant is pierced and fitted with a twisted reddish-brown silk cord.
