A COLLECTION OF VOLUMES ON IRANIAN AND ISLAMIC ART, CALLIGRAPHY, AND HISTORY. VARIOUS PUBLISHERS, LATE 20TH – EARLY 21ST CENTURY
An assortment of multiple books and multi-volume sets primarily focusing on Iranian and Islamic cultural heritage, art, and history. Included is a three-volume multilingual set titled The Dream of Paradise: The Art of Persian Carpet, housed in a maroon slipcase. Also present is a two-volume set by Mehdi Bayani, Ahval va Asar-e Khoshnevisan (Lives and Works of Calligraphers), bound in dark green cloth with gilt-stamped decorative panels. Further volumes include a slipcased square quarto titled The Sacred Sports Court (Good-e Moghadas) concerning the Zurkhanehs of Tehran, and a 2002 publication by the Iran National Archives Organization titled The Manifestations of the Iranian Art in the National Archives, researched by Seyyed Hassan Shahrestani. The group also features H.A.L. Craig’s Bilal with a geometric cover design; Morteza Goudarzi Dibaj’s The Art of Painting after the Iranian Islamic Revolution; and an orange softcover pamphlet by Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini Shirazi titled Qanun-e Asasi-ye Eslam. Completing the lot is a blue cloth-bound volume in Persian regarding Native Americans (Sorkhpoostan-e Amrika) containing historical photographs, and a small volume featuring a traditional Persian floral Gol-o-Morgh style cover.
