Lot 308: A COLLECTION OF SIX VINTAGE PRESS PHOTOGRAPHS DEPICTING INTERNATIONAL ARAB ROYALTY AND POLITICAL LEADERS

A collection of six vintage silver gelatin press photographs dating from the mid-20th century, primarily documenting international relations and royal figures in the Middle East and Europe. The assortment includes a variety of candid and formal shots featuring significant historical personalities.

The collection comprises:
1. Two photographs of Saudi Royal flight cadets at RAF Cranwell. A pink typed caption slip on the reverse of one identifies the subjects as Flight Cadet Bandar Bin Faisal (son of King Faisal), Flight Cadet Mohammed Bin Abdullah Bin Abdul-Rahman (nephew of King Faisal), Flight Cadet Abdullah Ashathry, and Flight Cadet Abdul-Aziz bin Faisal. These were taken following their graduation ceremony on Friday, 18 August 1967.
2. An Associated Press photograph depicting Prince Charles (now King Charles III) on his first official visit to Iran in 1971, being met at Mehrabad Airport by the Shah’s brother, Prince Mahmoud-Reza. A typed caption is visible on the front and handwritten identification on the reverse.
3. A photograph showing Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi seated with Prince Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with a faint identifying caption at the lower margin.
4. A photograph of PLO leader Yasser Arafat alongside Tunisian President Habib Bourguiba in Tunis, dated September 3 (circa 1982), following the PLO relocation to Tunisia.
5. A portrait of Prince Faisal bin Musaid in a high-ranking military uniform. The reverse features handwritten blue ink identification: A212, Prince Faisal Ben Musaid Ben Abdel (Assassin), referring to the individual responsible for the assassination of King Faisal in 1975.
