A COLLECTION OF THREE ARABIC-LANGUAGE REFERENCE VOLUMES REGARDING ISLAMIC HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY PRINTED BOOKS

A collection of three Arabic-language reference volumes regarding Islamic history and geography. The group includes a matched two-volume set titled Mawsu’at al-Alam al-Islami (Encyclopedia of the Islamic World), published by Dar al-Ra’i al-Amm, Kuwait. These volumes are bound in publisher’s green cloth with gilt-stamped calligraphic titles and emblems to the upper boards and spines, numbered 1 and 2 in Arabic numerals. The interior includes monochrome photographic plates and decorative colour frontispieces, including a page dedicated to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Accompanying the set is a larger quarto volume titled Atlas Tarikh al-Islam (Atlas of the History of Islam) by Dr Husayn Mu’nis, published by Al-Zahra for Arabic Media, Cairo. This volume is bound in dark green boards with gold-toned and light green lettering and a central inset illustration. The atlas is extensively illustrated with numerous full-colour maps and cartographic diagrams documenting the historical geography and expansion of the Islamic world.
