Lot 243: A PERSIAN SILVER REPOUSSE BUD VASE
0 views
A Persian silver bud vase of slender, tapering form, featuring high-relief repousse and chased decoration. The central frieze depicts figures in traditional dress within architectural and landscape settings, a style characteristic of the Isfahan region. This band is framed above and below by dense scrolling foliate and floral patterns in a ‘horror vacui’ style. The vase transitions to a flared rim with a scalloped edge, decorated with a repeating scrolling floral border. The circular, domed pedestal base is similarly ornamented with intricate foliate motifs.
