A Persian silver samovar of fluted vase form, The vessel is extensively decorated with chased and engraved scrolling foliate, floral, and strapwork motifs across the body. The upper crown and neck are fitted with pierced openwork galleries. The piece features two scrolling side handles terminating in zoomorphic masks and equipped with turned insulators. The tap is designed with a decorative scrolling handle and a shell-form junction where it meets the main body. The entire assembly rests upon a stepped square pedestal base supported by four winged lion’s paw feet. Several small hallmarks or maker’s marks are stamped onto the neck and base.
