Lot 219: A GROUP OF BUKHARA SILVER AMULETS AND PENDANTS WITH TURQUOISE AND CORAL, 18TH - 19TH CENTURY

The collection includes lozenge-shaped pendants, rectangular pendants with dangles, and a crescent-shaped pendant. Each piece is constructed from hand-wrought silver using intricate traditional techniques such as filigree, wirework, and granulation. The decorative schemes are predominantly floral and geometric, set with various turquoise cabochons and polished red coral beads. The largest pendants feature multiple suspension loops along the upper edge and rows of small loops at the base originally intended for bells or dangles. Two rectangular pieces are fitted with silver chain dangles terminating in small silver and red coral beads. The reverse of each item shows hand-hammered sheet silver construction typical of regional tribal work.
