ARABIC CHRISTIAN BOOK, KITAB AL-NUBUWAT AL-KANAISIYYA. MAR HANNA MONASTERY PRESS, AL-SHUWAYR, LEBANON, 1832 A.D

An early 19th-century Arabic Christian liturgical work titled Kitab al-Nubuwat al-Kana’isiyya (Book of Church Prophecies). The volume contains readings for Great Lent, Holy Week, the Pentecostarion, and various feasts of the saints according to the Melkite Greek Catholic rite. It was printed at the Mar Hanna Monastery press in al-Shuwayr, Keserwan, Lebanon, specifically for the Basilian Chouerite monks. The text is printed in black ink with headers and rubricated sections in red. This volume represents the third edition of the work, dated 1832 AD (1832 م). The book features an ornamental border on the title page and woodcut-style decorative elements at the beginning and end of sections. The endpapers and pages facing the colophon contain extensive handwritten marginalia in Arabic script. The binding is full dark brown leather.
