Lot 41: A COMPLETE TEXT OF THE QUR'AN ON A SINGLE PAGE, 20TH CENTURY

This impressive folio presents the entire text of the Holy Qur’an, exquisitely rendered in minute Ghubari (dust-like) script and masterfully arranged into a rhythmic architectural composition of vertical columns. The work is surmounted by an elegant illuminated sarlawh featuring a decorative unwan with a cusped arch, beneath which a golden cartouche contains the opening Surah Al-Fatiha executed in a refined lapis blue Naskh script. The central calligraphic field is enclosed within a sophisticated border of repeating foliate motifs in a palette of emerald green and gold, framed by a further sequence of delicate ruling. By condensing the approximately 6,236 verses into a single harmonious field of vision, the work achieves a profound visual unity, transforming the sacred text into a monumental display of calligraphic precision and artistic devotion. Presented in a custom-tiered mount and a classic black and gold frame.
