A nineteenth-century photographic travel album in a quarto-sized volume. The album is bound in full black pebbled leather featuring triple gilt-ruled borders on the boards. It contains a collection of mounted albumen prints documenting architectural landmarks and landscapes across Spain, North Africa, Sicily, and Turkey. Notable Spanish subjects include the Alhambra in Granada, the Cathedral of Burgos, the Great Mosque of Cordoba, and the Monastery of El Escorial, the latter of which is accompanied by a printed floor plan. North African views include Tangier, Algiers, and the gorge of Constantine. Sicilian subjects feature the Cappella Palatina in Palermo, while the Turkish section includes panoramic views of Constantinople. Several prints bear contemporary captions and studio credits in the negative, identifying prominent photographers of the era including J. Laurent y Cia (Madrid), Garzón, CAMINO, and J. E.
