AN EXTREMELY RARE OCTAGONAL COPPER ALLOY TALISMANIC SEAL BEARING THE NAME OF SHAH JAHAN , MUGHAL INDIA , DATED 1064 AH – 1653 A.D.

An octagonal talismanic plaque cast in a copper alloy bearing the name of shah Jahan. The obverse is decorated with raised calligraphic script in a style resembling Thuluth or Nasta’liq, organised into a central square and four border panels. The inscriptions include the Islamic Shahada.

لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله طرب دار الخلافة شاه جهان باد

"There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. May the abode of the Caliphate be joyful, May Shah Jahan last forever."
