Lot 94: A KASHMIRI SILVER BEAKER WITH TURKISH MARKING, 19TH CENTURY
0 views
The exterior is elaborately decorated with dense, chased and engraved foliate patterns across the body. The design features a background of scrolling vines and small leaves, punctuated by large, prominently raised lobed leaf motifs reminiscent of chinar leaves. The top rim and the base are finished with plain, unadorned borders. The interior of the beaker is smooth. The base features two impressed marks in oval surrounds: the larger mark contains a turkish tughra followed by the character sah (right).
