An Iraqi silver teacup and saucer decorated with niello inlay. The set features hand-engraved scenes depicting traditional Mesopotamian motifs, including the Arch of Ctesiphon, dhow sailing vessels, palm trees, and camel caravans. The cup is of a rounded form with a simple loop handle, while the matching saucer features a flared rim and a recessed centre. Both pieces are decorated with a continuous landscape frieze using the niello technique, where a dark metallic mixture is inlaid into engraved lines to create a high-contrast decorative finish.
