A large-format illuminated calligraphic panel executed on paper, featuring multiple bands of text and ornate decorative elements. The central horizontal field is flanked by two large lobed medallions containing intricate floral arabesques in gold and ultramarine blue on a pale yellow ground. The central section contains three circular medallions with gold backgrounds, each featuring calligraphic invocations. Directly below is a rectangular panel containing verses from Surah Al-Fatiha (1:6-7) in a refined black naskh script. The top border contains the final portion of Surah Al-Baqarah (2:286), while the bottom border features the opening verses of Surah Al-Imran (3:1-4). Interstitial bands contain calligraphy in red ink against gold-flecked or solid gold grounds. The panel is a work of illumination utilising fine ink work, opaque watercolours, and gold leaf.
