Buyer's Premium:

A set of twelve Tibetan cast bronze figures of Arhats, dating to the 18th century. Each figure is depicted seated in a variety of expressive poses on rectangular or irregular rockwork-style bases. The figures are constructed from a copper-based alloy with parcel-gilt decoration applied to the exposed skin areas of the faces, chests, and hands. The heavy monastic robes are finished with a dark patina and feature finely incised floral and geometric borders along the hems. Each figure displays unique iconography, with various mudras and attributes including a stupa, sutra scrolls, and ritual implements. Traces of cold-painted polychrome pigment are visible, most notably blue on the hair of one figure and red on the lips of others.

Dimensions: 12.3cm in height.
