Lot 335: A GOLD FATIMID FILIGREE GOLD PENDANT NECKLACE WITH GARNET BEADS, EGYPT OR SYRIA, 10TH–12TH CENTURY

A necklace featuring a central spherical pendant decorated with detailed filigree wirework and granulation. The pendant is constructed from a yellow metal and features several small raised domes and concentric circular patterns. The chain is composed of simple round links and is interspersed with groups of faceted dark red garnet beads, which are connected using hand-wired loops. Adjacent to the S-hook clasp is a circular filigree disc displaying a four-lobed floral motif.
