A MINIATURE THUMB SIZE ISLAMIC MANUSCRIPT QURAN SELECTION OF SURAHS, DATED 1077 AH (C. 1666) COPIED BY ABD AL-JAWAD SHARIF

Containing the text of the Qur’an or a significant selection of surahs. written in a clear black naskh script on cream-toned paper. The manuscript is embellished with hand-painted illuminations, including circular medallions with green and gold borders and floral motifs. Two medallions contain the names of Allah and Muhammad , while another two contain the names of Hasan and Husayn . The final pages of the text feature Surah an-Nas set within an octagonal frame of green and red. The manuscript concludes with a formal colophon on the final leaf, which identifies the scribe as Abd al-Jawad Sharif and records the date of completion as the year 1077 AH (corresponding to c. 1666-1667 AD).
