Lot 293: A MOROCCAN NIMCHA SABER SWORD, 19TH CENTURY

The single-edged steel blade is slightly curved and features a single fuller running along the upper third. The blade surface exhibits a dark patina with areas of surface oxidation and minor pitting. The hilt comprises a dark, carved grip terminating in a characteristic L-shaped pommel. The iron guard is fashioned with three distinct quillons that curve towards the blade, each ending in a bud-shaped terminal. A single knuckle guard bar extends from the crossguard towards the pommel. A yellow-metal ferrule band at the base of the grip features engraved scroll-like patterns.
