The interior is decorated with Kufic calligraphy executed in a copper-green pigment against a cream-coloured slip ground, covered with a clear lead glaze. The central well displays a prominent Kufic motif, while three additional calligraphic flourishes are spaced around the interior walls. The exterior shows a buff-coloured clay body beneath a thin and worn glaze.
