Buyer's Premium:

A 19th century oval pendant medallion executed in the traditional Indian Thewa technique. The pendant consists of a dark blue glass ground overlaid with intricate gold openwork. The central scene depicts two figures in ornate robes and headgear riding a dromedary camel. A palm tree is positioned to the left of the riders, and a smaller figure stands to the right. The entire scene is framed by a repeating chevron border. The reverse features a solid gold backing plate finished with a hand-chased diagonal cross-hatch diamond pattern. A simple gold suspension loop is soldered to the top edge of the bezel.
