A BYZANTINE GOLD SIGNET RING WITH BIRD MOTIF AND GREEK INSCRIPTION, CIRCA 5TH-7TH CENTURY A.D.
A signet ring featuring a thick, rounded yellow gold hoop and a flared, conical head. The junction between the hoop and the head is decorated with applied gold granulation consisting of a row of small spheres. The central engraved motif depicts a bird in profile facing right, positioned above a single pellet. The perimeter of the disk is inscribed with the Greek characters ΠΑΝΤΟΚΡΑΤΩΡ (Pantokrator), meaning Ruler of All, followed by an eight-pointed star at the base.
