The bezel is inset with a blue glass or enamel plaque, decorated with a light-coloured scrolled foliate or anchor-like motif at the centre, surrounded by a border of small geometric shapes. The hoop is of a simple, rounded section, tapering slightly and soldered to the reverse of the bezel. The gold possesses a deep yellow colour and surface texture consistent with high carat ancient metalwork.
