Lot 318: AN EMBROIDERED MOROCCAN TEXTILE PANEL, 19TH CENTURY

The central section consists of a plain red field, which is flanked by two distinct, highly decorated terminal panels. One panel exhibits a red-on-red diamond-lattice ground topped with a prominent band of black and white geometric motifs. Above this is a multi-coloured band with floral and zoomorphic figures. The opposing panel features horizontal registers of polychrome geometric patterns, including interlocking diamonds, stars, and stepped motifs in yellow, blue, green, and white.
