Lot 303: AN OTTOMAN NAJAF-SHARAF-KARBALA TRAMWAY OTTOMAN COMPANY STOCK CERTIFICATE, CIRCA 1328 AH

This is an issued stock certificate for the Najaf-Sharaf-Karbala Tramway Ottoman Company (نجف شرف ترامواى شركت عثمانيه‌سي), dating from circa 1328 AH (1910 AD). The document is printed in Ottoman Turkish script and identifies the certificate number as 7297, with a nominal value of 24,000 Ottoman Lira. The design includes a highly decorative multi-coloured border in red and green with intricate floral, foliate, and geometric motifs. The lower half of the large-format sheet contains forty-eight attached and unclipped coupons, each repeating the certificate number. The document bears several official circular ink stamps in blue and purple and various hand-written signatures. The reverse features further printed text and handwritten notations with additional official stamps.
