Lot 302: A TRIO OF MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD HISTORICAL EPHEMERA ITEMS DATED 1946

This lot comprises three pieces of historical ephemera relating to the Muslim Brotherhood (Al-Ikhwan Al-Muslimun) in Egypt, dated to 1946. The first item is an official typed letter on printed letterhead from the General Headquarters in New Helmieh, Cairo. The letterhead features the organisation’s logo, an eagle with Arabic text, and Islamic invocations. Dated 2 June 1946 (3 Rajab 1365 AH), the correspondence is addressed to Abdel Wahab Pasha Talaat, acknowledging a donation. It is signed in blue ink. The second item is a black and white studio portrait postcard depicting Hassan al-Banna, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood. He is shown in a profile view wearing a Western-style suit and a traditional red tarbush. The postcard has decorative deckled edges and a blank reverse with a standard layout. The third item is a printed receipt (No. 2091), hand-dated 12 June 1946. It records the receipt of five Egyptian pounds from Abdel Wahab Pasha Talaat. The document bears a circular purple ink stamp for the organisation and a bold, stylised signature in black ink on the left side.
