Buyer's Premium:

A pair of Qajar style brass incense burners, originating from Persia and dating to the 19th century. Each vessel comprises a globular bowl supported by a wide, flared pedestal base and is topped with a matching domed lid. The lids and bases feature extensive pierced openwork designed to emit fragrance or light, and the lids are finished with fluted, bud-shaped finials. The entire exterior surface is densely decorated with fine engraving and chasing. The ornamentation includes horizontal registers of circular and arched medallions containing various human figures, potentially courtiers or musicians, interspersed with animal motifs and scrolling foliate arabesques. Repeating geometric borders and stylised floral bands define the separate decorative zones.
