Lot 200: AN ARMENIAN JERUSALEM POTTERY TILE DEPICTING A GAZELLE, 20TH CENTURY

This square pottery tile is decorated in the style of Armenian ceramics from Jerusalem. The central motif features a white gazelle in profile with its head upturned, decorated with green dashed markings. The animal is set against a vibrant cobalt blue ground filled with stylized floral and foliate sprays, including palmettes in turquoise, white, and iron-red. The composition is enclosed within a turquoise-blue border containing a repeating pattern of small dark blue and red florets. The reverse of the tile is unglazed, showing a sandy, granular texture with several circular indentations from firing setters. A hand-painted mark in black pigment reading No 65 is present on the reverse, alongside a small green adhesive label numbered 3 2104.
