Lot 20: A TELL BRAK CARVED STONE DOUBLE-HEADED EYE IDOL, CIRCA 3500-3300 B.C.

It features a robust, flattened rectangular form that tapers slightly towards the top into two distinct heads. Each head is characterised by large, deeply incised, concentric almond-shaped eyes with central pupils, a stylistic hallmark of votive objects from this region. A central circular perforation is bored through the neck area between the two heads. The main body of the idol features two registers of incised horizontal zigzag chevron patterns, which may represent water or decorative textile elements.
