Buyer's Premium:

A Moroccan Koumaya dagger featuring a curved, double-edged steel blade with a reinforced central ridge. The upper portion of the blade is stamped with a circular maker mark containing a stylised human face, often referred to as a sun-face or man-in-the-moon mark. The hilt is constructed from a dark polished material, likely horn or a dense hardwood, featuring a waisted grip. It is fitted with white metal mounts at the pommel and ferrule, both of which are decorated with chased and repousse floral scrollwork. The scabbard is of traditional L-shaped form, made from a copper alloy with alternating bands of silver-toned metal. The entire surface of the scabbard is decorated with engraved foliate and geometric patterns. It retains two suspension rings fitted with a green twisted textile cord for attachment to a belt.
