AN ENGRAVED SILVER SAFAVID ISLAMIC TALISMANIC SUFI PENDANT WITH AYAT AL-KURSI AND ASMA UL-HUSNA, PERSIA, 17TH CENTURY

This circular talismanic pendant is crafted from a silver-toned metal, featuring extensive engraved inscriptions on both faces. The obverse displays a central medallion surrounded by concentric rings of calligraphy and talismanic symbols, including characters from the Abjad system and magic squares. The outermost band contains several of the 99 Names of Allah (Asma ul-Husna), including Al-Malik, Al-Quddus, and Al-Jabbar. The reverse side comprises six horizontal registers containing the complete text of the Ayat al-Kursi (Throne Verse) from the Quran (2:255).
