Buyer's Premium:

A Persian silver talismanic medallion or amulet, likely dating from the 18th-century Zand or Qajar period. The circular silver planchet is hand-engraved with a complex arrangement of inscriptions and symbols. The obverse features a wide outer border containing a Quranic inscription from Surah Al-Imran (3:31). The central field is divided into six horizontal registers containing rows of Abjad numerals and symbolic characters used for spiritual protection. The reverse is engraved with two lines of cursive Persian script, reading Ismail Irani (اسماعيل ايراني) over the phrase Nadir ast baz (نادر است باز), identifying the original owner and a personal motto.
