According to stylistic analysis and comparative auction records, this manuscript is an illuminated Chinese Qur’an section (juz’). The text is executed in a clear, large Naskh script in black ink with red vocalisation, laid out within red-ruled borders. Gold rosette rosette verse markers are used throughout. The manuscript features several highly decorative pages with elaborate gilded and polychrome illuminated borders and headpieces (unwan) incorporating foliate and geometric motifs. One visible header identifies Surah Al-Mu’minun (The Believers), The manuscript is written on cream-toned handmade paper. The volume is bound in contemporary reddish-brown leather over boards, decorated with blind-tooled central medallions, cornerpieces, and geometric borders.
