A miniature illuminated manuscript Qur’an, likely produced in the mid 19th century, accompanied by a contemporary brown pebble-grain leather carrying pouch with a decorative metal snap fastener. The volume is bound with a dark brown leather spine and polychrome floral lacquer boards featuring a dense floral pattern within gilded borders. The interior opens with an illuminated double-page frontispiece containing Surah Al-Fatiha and the beginning of Surah Al-Baqara in Naskh script, framed by gold, blue, and red floral and geometric borders. The text is written in black ink within gold and black ruled margins, with Surah headings rendered in red and gold bands. A full-page floral illustration depicting a daffodil is present on the inner board. The manuscript includes handwritten notes and marginalia on the endpapers, with dates in Arabic numerals including AH 1253 (approx. 1837 AD).
