Lot 55: A SELJUK SILVER AND NIELLO CUFF BRACELET, IRAN, 12TH CENTURY

Seljuk silver and niello hinged bangle bracelet, attributed to 12th century Persia. The heavy, wide band features elaborate repousse and cast ornamentation. The exterior is divided into sections by fluted and gadrooned bands, further decorated with raised circular bosses. Decorative panels feature geometric and foliate scrollwork in dark niello inlay. The focal point is a large, decorative clasp area featuring stylized, mask-like motifs with heart-shaped and circular cutouts. The item utilizes an integrated barrel-style hinge with a pin closure.
