This X-shaped textile ornament, is constructed with a deep purple silk velvet ground. The surface is decorated with hand-embroidered metallic thread work in a repeating grid pattern. Each square within the grid contains a small floral motif worked in red, yellow, and purple silk threads, further accented with sequins or spangles. The central intersection of the X-shape features a larger floral bouquet motif. The embroidery technique is consistent with Zardozi-style work.
