Buyer's Premium:

A pair of oval-shaped brass boxes executed in the Mamluk revival style, commonly associated with 19th-century Cairo metalwork. Each vessel is constructed from brass with intricate silver metal inlay. The exterior decoration consists of dense panels of Arabic calligraphic script interspersed with foliate scrolls, arabesques, and geometric borders. Both boxes feature hinged, slightly domed lids and front-facing latch mechanisms. One box is fitted with a visible keyhole to the front. The interiors show a reddish-brown metal surface consistent with copper or brass composition.
