A pair of silver-inlaid brass bowls executed in the Mamluk Revival style. Each bulbous vessel is decorated with horizontal registers of calligraphic inscriptions in Arabic script, set against a background of densely engraved scrolling floral and geometric motifs. The central body of each bowl features repeating lobed cartouches containing calligraphic panels. The interior of each vessel displays a large, centrally positioned medallion with complex foliate engraving. The construction consists of hammered brass with applied silver ornamentation and hand-engraved details.
