Lot 222: A COLLECTION OF KUTAHYA POLYCHROME GLAZED CERAMIC DISHES AND BOWLS, 19TH - 20TH CENTURY

This collection consists of several hand-painted ceramic items attributed to the Kutahya tradition. The group includes multiple small condiment or sweetmeat dishes in stylized leaf and hexagonal forms, one shallow lobed bowl with a scalloped rim, and one deep lobed cup or small bowl with a scalloped rim. Each piece is constructed from glazed pottery and features underglaze polychrome decoration in a palette of cobalt blue, turquoise, iron-red, yellow, and green, with dark manganese or black outlines. The decorative motifs include central floral sprays with serrated saz leaves, stylized tulips, carnations, and a central four-pointed star motif within the shallow bowl. The exterior of the larger bowl features a band of stylized floral motifs in yellow and black, while the deep cup is decorated with vertical panels containing upright floral sprays.
