This pair of silver bowls is attributed to the Isfahan school of metalwork in Iran and is signed by Master Jaafar. Each bowl is constructed from silver and decorated using the traditional ghalam-zani technique of repoussé and chasing. The exterior design is organized into horizontal registers. The upper rim features a continuous band of Nastaliq calligraphy. The central body contains alternating lobed cartouches depicting courtly figures in traditional dress and Gol-o-Bolbol motifs featuring birds among dense floral foliage. The interior base of each bowl displays a large chased floral rosette medallion, with a secondary floral border along the inner rim. The underside of each bowl bears two stamped hallmarks, including the signature of Master Jaafar and a standard mark.
