This 10th century Indian spearhead is constructed of cast bronze. The weapon features a broad, leaf-shaped blade with a prominent central midrib that tapers into a slender, elongated point. At the base of the blade are two distinct, downward-curving lateral spurs or barbs. The weapon is integrated with a long, faceted socket, hexagonal in cross-section, that flares slightly toward the base. The socket includes a narrow vertical aperture and two circular pin holes intended to secure the head to a wooden shaft.
