Lot 121: AN INDO-PERSIAN SILVER INLAID STEEL SPEARHEAD, 19TH CENTURY

This 19th-century spearhead is attributed to Northern India or Qajar Persia, featuring a leaf-shaped steel blade with extensive silver koftgari inlay. The decorative program on the blade faces includes a central vertical axis with scrolling vines and heart-shaped leaves, all contained within a scalloped border. At the base of the blade are two mirrored, rampant animal figures resembling stylized lions or panthers. The spearhead is constructed with a long, faceted octagonal socket featuring a central raised boss. This boss is decorated with four inlaid floral rosettes with silver petals and reddish-toned centers. A geometric zig-zag pattern is inlaid on the neck above the boss. The base of the socket is finished with a silver-colored metal ferrule. The item is presented in a modern rectangular wooden display block.
