Description
This Persian silver teapot features an octagonal globular body divided into panels. Each panel is decorated with dense, chased floral and foliate motifs. The ornamentation extends across the curved spout and the domed, hinged lid. The lid is topped with a tiered metal and turned wood finial. An angular, carved dark wood handle is pinned to silver sockets. The teapot stands on a conforming octagonal pedestal foot. Faint, worn hallmarks are present on the underside of the base. The interior of the vessel contains remnants of a gilt wash.
