A Russian silver and niello ewer featuring a globular body with spiral gadrooning and an ornate, foliate-capped scroll handle. The vessel is constructed with alternating plain and decorated fluted ribs, the latter of which are embellished with intricate niello foliate scrollwork. It has an elongated, slender neck terminating in a flared, pinched pour spout and rests on a flat, plain circular base.
